The Dhai Aakhar Prem: National Cultural Jatha is in its spirit an embodiment of all individuals and organizations who dream of a peaceful, respectful, compassionate, inclusive, and mutually caring India; who believe and cherish the cultural diversity of India, who do not discriminate on the basis of caste, gender, religion, region, language, colour, work, wealth, and believe in free creative expression and dignity of all human beings. In sum, all who believe in and dream of a life full of love and care are co-travellers in the Jatha.
The Jatha is open to all for participation. Here are a few modes of participation you can choose from:
Co-organizers
Organizations pursuing the similar objectives as that of the Jatha can become co-organizers at national, state, or local level. As a co-organizer you can contribute in the management and implementation of the Jatha and its various components such as coordinating with various resource persons, media outreach, resource mobilization, logistics along the route, connecting with local artists and artisans along the route/within a state, and so on. You will be working with the Central Coordination Team and respective State Organizing Committees. Communicate your support to us and the Central Coordination Team will follow up with you.
Creative Partners
Artistes, graphic designers, painters, poets, musicians, singers, youtubers, stand-up comics, and others can join the Jatha by creating content spreading the message of Jatha. You can also travel with the Jatha and document it in the medium of your choosing. You can also bring in your performances to the Jatha. Communicate your support to us and the Central Coordination Team will follow up with you.
Media Partners
Media outlets (print and online), journalists, bloggers (print and video), can cover the Jatha, write about it, speak about it, spread the news and message. You will be working with the Central Coordination Team of the Jatha. Communicate your support to us and the Central Coordination Team will follow up with you.
Opinion Makers
Intellectuals, artists, media persons, commentators, and others who have a responsible status in the society as opinion makers can bring their influence to spread the message of the Jatha. You may use any media and platform that you are comfortable with. For information you can contact the Central Coordination Team. Communicate your support to us and the Central Coordination Team will follow up with you.
Contribute Resources
Individuals and organizations can contribute to the Jatha in kind or through financial support. In kind contributions will involve publicity support, logistics support (food, place to stay, connect with people who may help during the route, medical support, etc.), printing facilities, video editing support, vehicle/fuel support carrying the belongings of Jatha travellers, etc.

Travel with the Jatha
We welcome individuals to travel with the Jatha. If you are excited about knowing the lives of fellow countrymen, their culture as they practice on a daily basis, their creativity as expressed in their daily labours, conversations, traditional art forms and folklore, food habits, and textile, their worldview as manifest in their aspirations, joys, sorrows, relationship with environment and fellow citizens, you must travel with the Jatha. It is an opportunity to see the countryside and know India better, in person. Come, immerse in the idea of India as a pulsating heart of a diversity of people in different geographies.
You can travel with the Jatha in following ways:
- Be part of one or many state leg(s) of Jatha
- Join Jatha on a particular day
In order to join the Jatha, you must be prepared to:
- Walk on foot
- Live with minimal amenities as provided by local hosts
- Interact with whoever comes along with an open heart
- Maintain the discipline of the Jatha
- Contribute to spreading the message of Jatha
- Pay the registration fee
Individuals can travel with the Jatha for a day, during the state route, or multiple states.
