The Vaikom Satyagraha was a nonviolent protest that took place in 1924 in Vaikom, Kerala. It was led by T. K. Madhavan, K. Kelappan and K. P. Kesava Menon. It aimed to challenge the age-old practice of untouchability against lower-caste Hindus and the ban on accessing public roads leading to the Vaikom Temple. The Vaikom Satyagraha laid the foundation for future movements against caste discrimination and under Gandhi ji’s leadership an agreement for opening access to roads around the temple was reached.
वाईकम सत्याग्रह, 1924 में केरल के वाईकम में हुआ एक अहिंसात्मक प्रदर्शन था। इसका नेतृत्व टी. के. माधवन, के. केलप्पन और के. पी. केशव मेनन ने किया। इसका उद्देश्य वाईकम मंदिर के आसपास की सड़कों पर निम्न जातियों के आने-जाने पर लगे प्रतिबंध को समाप्त करना था। वाईकम सत्याग्रह ने जाति आधारित भेदभाव के खिलाफ भावी आंदोलनों के लिए पृष्ठभूमि का निर्माण किया और 1925 में महात्मा गांधी के नेतृत्व में मंदिर के तीन रास्तो को खोलने के लिए समझौता हुआ।
