Get Ready for the Gamchha Show on 27th September 2023

Dear Friends,

We request your esteemed presence at the Gamchha Show on 27th September 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Jawahar Bhawan, New Delhi.

The show is a part of a campaign ‘Dhai Aakhar Prem: National Cultural Jatha’ (28 September 2023 to 30 January 2024), celebrating the ethos from Kabir to Gandhi. The show is curated by well-known Show Director & Textile Curator Prasad Bidapa to spread love, harmony, and humanity, and assert the piety of labor.

This show invokes the ethos of India’s rich cultural tradition and philosophy that is manifest in the poetry of saint poets and India’s freedom struggle and runs through the idiom of everyday life of every hardworking Indian. It underscores the message of equality and mutual respect across humanity and its relationship with nature.

Dhai Akhar Prem: National Cultural Jatha is a nationwide cultural Jatha (march/padyatra) on foot, which is starting from Alwar, Rajasthan on 28th September 2023 (Bhagat Singh’s birth anniversary). It will travel around 22 states of the country and will culminate in Delhi on 30th January 2023 (Mahatma Gandhi’s martyr day). The Jatha is a celebration of love and camaraderie, in direct opposition to the sentiment of hatred and mistrust – so rampant in our world today.

This show and the Jatha is co-organised by IPTA, Jana Natya Manch, Jan Sanskriti Manch, Janwadi Lekhak Sangh, All India Progressive Writers Association, Dalit Lekhak Sangh, and many more like-minded and progressive cultural organisations all over the country.

We look forward enormously to your presence, your participation, and your support. We also request  your help in connecting us with like minded organisations/ individuals and spread the message of the Jatha. We thank you in advance for your generosity on all counts.
