Glimpses of the Gamchha Campaign as a preparation of the Dhai Aakhar Prem Jatha in JHARKHAND from 07-December-2023 to 13-December 2023 starting from Ghatshila and culminating at Jamshedpur with an objective to spread the message of love, compassion, and dignity of labour.
Gamchha, a symbol of love, labour and manual work, was used in this campaign to invite friends and comrades, to raise funds and seek contributions and support as well as to reach as many partners and collaborators as possible. So far, we have reached more than 65 people in Jamshedpur, and neighbouring villages like Murgaghuttu, Dungridih, Bhatin, Khadiadih, and Maubhandar. These Gamchhas are made by weavers of the Oraon indigenous community of Jharkhand. The Jatha aims to create synergy between art, culture, labour and love.
